Our Story

Back in 2016 we started ARK coworking in Kings Cross, partnering with Kings Cross Church to transform an old Victorian apartment building into an affordable home for local creatives, startups and freelancers. Over the course of seven years we got to know people taking the brave step of starting or ending a business, changing jobs, or facing the challenges of working alone. Through Friday breakfasts, film screenings and summer BBQs we made a space for friendships to form and for community to flourish, all in partnership with the church staff team working from the same building.

In 2022 we moved into a new building and started the renovation process again, turning an empty church building into our new Kings Cross home and bringing redemptive life back into the space.

Throughout our journey we’ve met others who are passionate about serving the business community, or long to see their church buildings filled with life throughout the week. We have since worked with other churches to explore creative expressions of new community spaces that are:

Income generating

Serving the church

Reaching out to the community
